Workshop Photos

This workshop is designed to teach corporate and independent ergonomic specialists how to organize their training content and market it to their internal audiences. Audience members will form teams of three or four persons and work together to produce training content by the end of the session.

The teams will have one Mock Corporate Website (provided by the speaker) to which they can actually post content during the session. This provides hands‐on experience in creating, uploading, and viewing the results of their work. Seeing their work online also gives them the opportunity to evaluate their work for clarity, brevity, and focus, and other team members can offer critiques. Each team will develop a Content Plan based on actual content they know exists in their corporate environment. They will not access or use it directly, they will just write down the names and type of content to which they have access. Teams will fill in missing content areas by brainstorming for new content ideas. For example, if among the team members none have a corporate blog, then they'll strategize on what would go into a blog, and write one blog post to add to the Mock Corporate Website.

Finally, each team will develop a marketing plan based on the content plan they've created. They'll choose two to four communication methods, and set up a 3‐ to 6‐month marketing plan to use those methods. Those content and marketing plan examples will be added to the Mock Corporate Website.

Expected outcomes of the workshop are to accomplish the following:

  • Introduce the IGOA process and its components
  • Use the morning Workshop results as an example of the process
  • Apply the IGOA process to different types of problems in small group formats
  • Develop confidence so that the participants can add this to their professional "tool kit"
